Art sculpture decorates company view Van Manen

It was on the wish list for a long time. A sculpture, in concept made by local artist Marco Overdiep, was to be built in the front yard of the company building. A long search for the required parts and all preparations have led to an impressive sculpture that lightens the position of Van Manen Draaikransen at the industrial area of Elst in September 2012.

At the entrance of the main building on the industrial area where Van Manen is located, an 8 meter high piece of art is installed. The design is of the local artist Marco Overdiep. In the sculpture titled “essence”, three slewing rings where applied. The total weight of these is 4 Ton.

Slewing rings contain balls and rollers. These are essential for the turning of it. Marco Overdiep has visualized the elements that are essential for the application. Balls and rollers (cylindrical) are essential for slewing rings. Without these elements a slewing ring could not function right. In this sculpture ball and roller are expressed artistically-minded. The vertical circle becomes a ball when turned. In the space between the two horizontal circles you can imagine a roller. The circles are the slewing rings that are sold around the world by Van Manen. The company applies the essence of entrepreneurship.
